Madi the Rock Star

I am so thankful for this crazy little nutball.

For her completely and totally original sense of fashion.

For her boundless energy.

For the way she snuggles and dozes off while we are reading bedtime stories.

For the way she is both little-sister-the-pest and big-sister-the-protector.

For her fearlessness.

For the joy she brings to my heart.

And for the way she keeps me humble by faking confusion for the video camera when she was totally rocking out not 30 seconds before.

That's my girl.

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I have never actually participated in the Not Me Monday posts, but so many interesting things happened in our house this week, I simply could not resist. And so,...

This week, it was not me who...

  • forgot to put the green chilies in my famous green chili chicken casserole, thus forcing my family to eat plain old chicken casserole.

  • forgot to wear a slip the day I wore my beautiful black and white dress to work. With bright blue underwear.

  • had to have a conversation with the smallest princess about why Daddy has hairy boobies and Mommy doesn't.

  • had to have a conversation with the middle princess about why we don't put the fiber optic light-up dinosaur toy on our private parts.

  • bribed the children with food so they would stop talking for a few minutes.

  • wore capris on the day it decided to snow. All day.

So what did you NOT do this week?

Good Fashion Sense

Madison is, in a word, individual. She has always marched to her own beat. Sometimes quite literally.

What am I saying? This child doesn't just march to her own beat - she commands the entire orchestra!

Check Spelling
When it comes to fashion, she had very definitive ideas.

And, considering the 3 feet of snow still in our yard, we must accessorize accordingly.

Madison also really likes to be like Daddy. Please note the tie and the beanie, that were, in her words, just like Daddy's.

She wore that Veggitales tie for an entire morning. I love her attitude!

Please don't call the fashion police!

Yesterday, I let Madi pick her own outfit. This is what she chose:

And she just couldn't understand why I had issues with it! Oh well, give her time...
I called her a grape-flavored leopard the rest of the day.
