Monday Mugs: Back to School

Our first day of school looked pretty different this year.

We learned how bees make hives and honey.

And hugged our favorite bear.

We explored a natural hot spring.

And took a hike into the woods.

We studied nature.

And nature studied us.

A wild patch of strawberries made for the perfect snack.

Lunchtime was on a log instead of the cafeteria.

And the view was much better.

And, lest you think our entire day was spent traipsing among the daisies,

We did actually spend some time at our desks.

But not that much.

And that is the beauty of home schooling for me.

Monday Mugs: Escape

I love the theme for Monday Mugs this week.  Escape.  Just what our family needed last weekend.

So, we hopped in the car and headed 3 1/2 hours south to the Land of Enchantment.

We ate at my favorite Mexican restaurant EVER!

I have been coming here since I was her age.

We took turns riding in the super dino stroller at the Museum of Natural History.

Compared our handprints to those of the mighty TRex.

Did you know the TRex used to stomp all over New Mexico?
Neither did I.

We learned just how enormous some of those dinos were.

Even as babies.

We took Dad to his first Triple A game for Fathers Day, complete with the obligatory parking lot/stadium photo

And the cool statue in front of the stadium shot.

Can I tell you how funny I find it that the pest control ad was flashing behind my little pests?

And of course the obligatory scoreboard shot.

Madi and Daddy got to go on the field before the game to play catch.

And all of us ladies enjoyed the sun.

We had spent most of the day at the water park inside the hotel, and could use the sunshine.
No shots from the park - I like my camera.

And, when it was time to go home, someone figured out how to milk her daddy one last time.

Monday Mugs: Dinner

We like dinner.

A lot.

We may not be the neatest eaters,

But, by golly, we are going to protect enjoy every last bite.

And while our table manners may leave a little to be desired (doesn't everyone cut teeth on a steak bone?),

That doesn't mean we can't treat every dinner like a fancy event.

Even when Mom doesn't feel like cooking and serves this

What?  Makes sense to me!

Monday Mugs: Whatever The Heck You Want

Are you in need of a mindless Monday Blog post? Are you struggling to deal with the weekend being over and can't muster the strength to type a single word? Well, Monday Mugs is for YOU! I may or may not "borrow" ideas from IheartFaces and post my interpretation of their weekly theme. Without submitting my photo for judgement and without being forced to follow the rules.

Mondays are hard! Blogging on Mondays shouldn't be

I can do this theme!!!  So, without further ado, I present "Whatever the heck I want"!

We needed to vacuum the other night.

You know those nights?  Where the crumbs seem to outnumber the thread count?

Well, the girls begged pestered bothered asked if they could do it.

You would have thought we gave them a million dollars.

You know you have siblings when you fight over how much time you each got to spend vacuuming.

The giggles alone were worth the extra go-around I had to do when they were done.

Anyone have any brilliant ideas to keep them this excited about vacuuming when they're teenagers?

We got these amazing, HUGE coloring pages for Christmas.  The only place big enough for them is on the floor.  So that is where the girls color now.

Monday Mugs: Paper Fun

Can you guess which Bleger girl is which?

Because, at the same age,

you could probably mistake them for triplets.

Who Won Coffee??? And Monday Mugs: Halloween

Ohmygosh!!  Ohmygosh!!  Ohmygosh!!  Ohmygosh!!

I am so stinkin excited about this giveaway!  Know why???

.......

Because someone won!!!!

OK, I'm done being a smarty pants about it.  And thanks to my two awesome lurkers who came out of hiding for this contest!  Michaela&Riley and Laura Ickes, you both blessed my day!

But, the real reason I am so excited about this giveaway is the fact that the winner and I were chatting via email this weekend about how cool it would be to get together for coffee when I head up to Children's next week with Katrina.  So, according to my wonderful friend, random.org,

the winner of the $10 Starbucks card is ...

Kari - now we really have to get together for coffee!!!!  Email me so we can coordinate!

Today's theme for Monday Mugs is: Halloween

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Well, we had a grand time this Halloween season.  We found these great white pumpkins at the grocery store that were just begging for an art project.

So we busted out our super expensive, art supply house palates (read: cheap paper plates), and went to town!

Little Miss Neat Freak insisted on painting "correctly".

While Thing One and Thing Two were perfectly content to mush all the colors together.

I was serious about the mushing.

And somehow, someone succeeded in painting her lip.

As well as the rest of herself...

Last Saturday was Katrina's school's Fall Carnival.  So our chicken, black kitty, and cowgirl got all dolled up...

...to hang out with a turkey...

... and get fake teeth from the principal.

And Madi made sure to wear her spurs.

We don't do trick-or-treating because Madi is terrified of pretty much everything Halloween-related.  Even the stuffed animal spiders and bats.  And, really, I don't need that much drama.  So last night we hung out at our neighbor's house for a bonfire.  It was just right.
